Boysetsfire cover Miley Cyrus to protect whales

Posted by on November 13, 2014

Boysetsfire will be part of an upcoming split 7″ with Kmpfsprt, to benefit the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Each band has a song on the split, and the hardcore stalwarts are covering “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus.

In an interview with Metal Insider earlier this year,  Boy Sets Fire (and I am Heresy) vocalist Nathan Gray said, “I think there are people that listen to Boy Sets Fire for the almost pop and rock sensibility of it at times.” For a band that does a great cover of Elton John’s “Rocket Man,” this new cover should be great.

The split, due out January 20, 2015 will be available from Uncle M Records, but it looks like all 500 copies are already sold out. All proceeds from the 7″, digital sales, and streaming will be going to Sea Shepherd, “to protect whales and fight whale fishers worldwide.”
