One reason why we’ve been excited about Jeff Loomis’ new album Plains Of Oblivion was because of the guest appearance made by Ihsahn. Sure, the former Nevermore guitarist’s sophomore album promised lots of amazing shredding and other stellar guests. But we’d be lying if we didn’t say that we were most looking forward to hearing the track featuring the former Emperor frontman.

Well, thanks to Germany’s Rock Hard, we don’t have to wait till the album’s release to hear Ihsahn and Loomis’ collaboration. Though we heard a snippet of “Surrender” in the album’s sample video, the zine is currently streaming the entire song online. So how is it? Well, go ahead and listen to it for yourself, but we ourselves are definitely not disappointed.

Update: the song “Surrender” is also currently being streamed by Decibel Magazine.

Need more Loomis to get through the rest of your day? Then you’re in luck, since video of the guitarist rehearsing with Joe Nurre (Shaded Enmity guitarist who will be playing in his solo band) for their upcoming tour with Protest The Hero and Periphery made its way online this past weekend. You can watch Loomis and Nurre playing “Shouting Fire at a Funeral” from his first solo record Zero Order Phase after the jump.
