Korn’s new single, “Never Never” leaks

Posted by on August 7, 2013

Korn-The-Paradigm-Shift-620x620Korn’s 11th album, The Paradigm Shift, will be released in October on their new label, Prospect Park. And while the album’s first single, “Never Never,” hasn’t officially been released yet, it’s made its way online via SoundCloud and a rip from a radio station. While Korn claimed the new album, their first with guitarist Brian “Head” Welch back in the band since 2003’s Take a Look in the Mirror, wouldn’t be another dubstep album like their last, The Path of Totality, the first taste of the new album spits the difference. There’s definitely some dubsteppy stuff going on, especially in the break around 2:20. And the song itself is more new wave-sounding than heavy. In fact, for the the first album with Head back in the band, it’s really hard to make out any guitars. It actually reminded us more of Type O Negative than Korn. So what are your thoughts on it? Let us know in the comments section below.

The Paradigm Shift will be out on October 8.

UPDATE: while the song is now available for streaming via Korn’s Facebook page, it can also still be heard in the video below.

    I enjoyed it

  • Jona Thorston says:

I am undecided. After 3 listens…. I dunno… catchy chorus, but I hate that ‘ahhh uhhh oh ahhh’ stupid thing in the chorus that even bands like Biffy Clyro are doing now as well

  • Jona Thorston says:

Wait how can you say that this is song is more Type O Negative then Korn when Type O Negative are one of the heaviest bands in ages, with crazy thrash guitars? You said you can barely hear guitars?? You just contradicted yourself.

  • jake says:

I don’t like it much and want a head and junky guitar album. It is just too slick and over produced. It has potential to be a good song but was recorded wrong i fear. Maybe the rest of the cd will be better? I like the path of totality but that was much more rock than this never never song. Korn fans dont like this never never.

  • T-Rex says:

    I wanna like it but i don’t know… I’m hoping it’s just a single…

Head said ”The album has heavy guitar and powerful chorus” Yea none of that is present in this song buddy.

The rest of the album better be a hell of a lot better…

Screw all the Korn haters ! They started a sound and continued with it ! They always put out material and toured ! Don’t blame them for a repetitive sound because so many others ripped them off !

    That shit was horrible

All you people say ur true korn fans but ur not .a true korn fan will stixk with them and not dis their new stuff. And now I’m a true fan to the heart I love their work johnathan changes it up every time instead of keeping it to one sound.

I’m not gonna go on and gripe about how bad it is, or anything about being a “true” or “fake” fan. I’m just gonna tell it like it is. I love KoRn. Plain and simple, do I prefer the “life is peachy” or “untouchables” sound to “the path of totality”? Of course! it’s just what speaks to me more. “Never Never” just doesn’t speak to me. I understand “going in different directions”, but I just can’t shake the “if it ain’t broke” idea. If they rest of this album is like this I’ll be disappointed.
