Overkill announce new album in the works, hit studio on Labor Day

Posted by on August 30, 2013

overkillOverkill have no plans of R&R this Labor Day. The staples on the New Jersey metal scene are set to get right to work, entering the studio for production of a new album slated for release next year. The record will be mixed by Greg Reely, who also worked on the band’s 2012 album release The Electric Age.

Overkill will support Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Testament and Anthrax September 13th for The Battle of San Bernardino performance. From there Overkill embarks on a co-headling tour with Kreator throughout North America and is on the roster for next year’s 70,000 Tons Of Metal Cruise. Hopefully the band, particularly frontman Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth, will find some time for rejuvenation, especially during cold and flu season. Overkill was set back on touring early this year because of Blitz’s fight with a long bout of walking pneumonia.
