apex_meat 306As 2015 continues to draw to a close, we’ve not only been counting down our own picks for the best music of 2015, but giving artists a chance to weigh in on their own picks. We’ve given artists like Toothgrinder, Act of Defiance, Soilwork and Anthrax’s Charlie Benante a chance to name their favorite music of 2015, and today,  we’ve got another Anthrax member, guitarist Scott Ian, as well as Dragonforce’s Fred Leclercq and Britta Gortz from Cripper to name their favorites. You can keep track on other artists’ favorites here.

1) Faith No More, Sol Invictus

Mostest longest awaitest album EVER! And I was so nervous about this…Man I am so so happy  that they didn’t show up with a half-hearted “let’s play on the safe side”, warmed-up comeback album. They were never really gone anyway. Prost!

2) Sylosis, Dormant Heart

Great album, amazing vocals. Sylosis, how I love them.

3) Godbite, The Aristocrats

I came across these guys in 2012 and this is their debut album they’re finally releasing in December. I haven’t heard the full album yet, but it deserves to be high in my top 10 simply because what I heard so far was awesome.

4) Napalm Death, Apex Predator – Easy Meat

5) Godsmack, 1000HP

And who would have thought they will show up with a new release?

6) Florence + The Machine, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful
She is simply gorgeous and I love everything she does.

7) The Ocean / Mono – Transcendental

8) Scarnival, The Art of Suffering

I waited a long time for this. It’s our bassist’s other band and it kicks serious butt!

9) Lamb of God, vii: Sturm und Drang

I kinda expected their new album higher in my top 10 before it came out. It’s a good album, but it didn’t grab me as much as other albums from ’em.

10) Hatesphere, New Hell
