I recognize so many faces in this article… I, too, am a NSCLC stage 3/B survivor. I am a 60 year old women who is now in remission for over two years. Yes, I was a smoker and had quit 23 years prior to my diagnosis. Back in my college days, my sorority taught us how to have our cigarettes lit in a ladylike fashion. When I was diagnosed, I felt I was in the best physical condition I had been in years! I was one of the lucky ones, living so close to several major teaching hospitals where I could get cutting edge treatments. Patients aren’t able to access treatments as so little money is given to lung cancer research. I am now participating in another clinical trial for the lung cancer vaccine… so far, so good!
