It took Maynard James Keenan a long time to stop denying a new Tool album is in the works as well as Corey Taylor finally focusing on new Slipknot material. We can only assume many vocalists arrive later to record/write something new. For instance, KoRn frontman Jonathan Davis is spending a chunk of his time to support his upcoming solo effort, which includes a world headlining solo tour.
However, a few of his bandmates appear to be working on the follow-up to 2016’s The Serenity of Suffering. For those who have been with the band since the beginning, they tend to release a new record every 1-3 years. During a recent screening of the documentary Mind Over Matter, guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer, who appears in the film, could not attend the screening but managed to answer a few questions at a remote studio location. ReelAbilities Film Festival revealed these details on Twitter stating:
“Why aren’t you here? @JC_SHAFFER joining from @Korn recording there new record at @MOMdocu screening.”
Additionally, KoRn’s Brian “Head” Welch shared a video on his Instagram saying happy birthday to Breaking Benjamin’s guitarist while in the studio.
To top it off, earlier today, Welch revealed an in-the-studio photo, stating:
“Thanks @travisbarker & @johnfeldy for the all the seshs. So fun!”
