ozzy osbourneWhat’s Ozzy Osbourne up to? Well, we know he’ll be playing Rock in Rio and hopefully doing a bigger tour with Judas Priest and Motorhead after that. Regardless, Ozzy’s said in the past that Black Sabbath will be taking a bit of a sabbatical this year while he concentrates on his solo career. Now we know that some of it’s going to involve a possible Las Vegas residency. The Sun reports that “Hellgate,” an Ozzy show, will be ready in time for Halloween.

“I’m working right now on a Vegas production for Ozzy,” Sharon confirmed to British newspaper The Sun. “It’ll be in time for Halloween and be called Hellgate.”

It would make sense that Ozzy bring his act to Las Vegas. Guns N’ Roses and Motley Crue have done residencies in Las Vegas, and both did well enough that they did came back to do it a second time. Vegas is both close enough to Los Angeles and enough of a nationwide and global destination that it draws well, despite having somewhat of a reputation as drawing an older crowd. Thinking about it, Ozzy is 66. It’s perfect. Given that it’s a short flight back to Los Angeles, and he’ll probably be given five star accommodations by whatever casino he’s playing, it’s a no-brainer, and with nine months to come up with production, it could be one of the better tours of the year.
