Already having made a name for themselves with doom fans over the past five years, Pallbearer keep finding new and diverse bands to go on tour with. Their Anthrax/Lamb of God tour earlier this year undoubtedly earned them some new fans, and their tour with Deafheaven probably confused some black metal hipster types that hadn’t heard of them before either. They’re set to go on tour with Baroness starting Friday (12), and to possibly help let Baroness fans know what they’re in for, the band have released a three-song EP that’s streaming now via their Bandcamp. Fear and Fury features a remastered version of the title track, which was released as a single, and covers of Black Sabbath’s “Over and Over” and Type O Negative’s “Love You To Death.” If you’re taking on the forefathers of metal and another beloved band with their own unique style, you better stick the landing. Thankfully, Pallbearer deliver on all counts. The band have their own sound that they’ve grown into, and Brett Campbell’s singing has gotten better over the years as well.
Fear and Fury is available to stream now, and you can pick it up digitally. A limited edition vinyl version of it is available for pre-order now as well, and will ship the week of October 21st. Check the tour dates below.
