Last night was a special one for rock and metal fans around the New York area. Corey Taylor, who’s currently on tour in support of both Stone Sour’s Hydrograd and his just-released book, America 51: A Probe into the Realities That Are Hiding Inside “The Greatest Country in the World, stopped by Irving to play an intimate acoustic gig. Joined by Stone Sour guitarist Christian Martucci, a third guitarist (Taylor played as well) and drummer Roy Mayorga, the trio played versions of both Slipknot and Stone Sour songs along with covers of songs by Johnny Cash, Nine Inch Nails, Creedence Clearwater Revival, KISS and Hall and Oates. He also spoke in between songs, taking questions from the audience and chatting more like it was an episode of VH1 Storytellers. Metal Insider contributing photographer Melinda Oswandel was there, and captured these exclusive pics for us.
