The Blackened Music Series had its inaugural event at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple this past weekend with Repulsion, Pig Destroyer and Brutal Truth. The event also served as a release party for Precious Metal: Decibel Presents the Stories Behind 25 Extreme Metal Masterpieces. A who’s who of metal press and a relatively full house were there to see godfathers of grindcore Repulsion play their only release, Horrified, in its entirety.  Pig Destroyer played next, garnering the biggest crowd reaction of the night, while Brutal Truth played for a smaller, yet no less enthusiastic crowd. The next Blackened Music Series event at the Masonic Temple will feature Sunn O))), Earth and Pelican on September 22. Check out photos from the event after the jump.
