Kvelertak Hope To Have A New Album Out By Fall Of 2012

It’s no secret that we here at Metal Insider HQ are head over heels in love with Kvelertak. Three of our contributors included the Norwegian black metal/punk band’s debut self-titled album in their top 10 favorite albums of 2011, while I included it in my “honorable mentions” section only because of stubborn technicalities (since it was released in 2010 everywhere but North America, I consider it a year old). That’s why we’re all excited to hear that Kvelertak could release their sophomore album as soon as this coming Fall.

In a recent interview with Terrorizer Magazine, singer Erlend Hjelvik had the following to say about Kvelertak’s future plans:

“Once we get home from this tour, we’re going to work on the new material. We already have two new songs that we’re playing live on this tour. Hopefully we’ll start recording before Summer, and maybe have an album out by Fall. We’ll see what happens!”

After looking around the web, we found fan filmed video of Kvelertak playing a new song in Finland last month. And if the band’s new record sounds anything like that one song, then holy crap! Can it be Fall already? You can watch the band performing the new song after the jump.
