It was only a few months ago that Tenacious D released their third album, Rize of the Fenix, but it appears that’s not going to be the only material coming from the duo this year. Making the rounds to promote his new film, Bernie, Jack Black mentioned that the duo have a jazz album coming out in November. Black told the Los Angeles Times that  Tenacious D Jazz will be a limited edition vinyl-only release. The Times says the album “will contain lyrics, but still channel Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, and other instrument-based jazz influences.” We’re assuming that the above number, a song called “Simply Jazz” that the band performed this past summer, will make it onto the album. Kind of funny for a song, but I’d imagine a whole album of it would be borderline unlistenable.
