Kyuss Lives…Without Josh Homme

Reunions, Stoners Rejoice!

Three quarters of seminal stoner metal band Kyuss will be reuniting for a full European tour in the Spring of 2011. Bassist Nick Oliveri, drummer Brant Bjork and singer John Garcia will be touring under the moniker Kyuss Lives. Guitarist Josh Homme will be sitting out, but joining the three will be guitarist Bruno Fevery, who played with Garcia in the Garcia Plays Kyuss project.

Fans may recall that the three had their first mini reunion when Oliver and Bjork joined Garcia Plays Kyuss during their set at France’s Hellfest this past June. It was the first time that the three performed with each other since they disbanded in 1995. You can check out the band performing “Green Machine” above. While this is definitely exciting news, American fans may be bummed out that Homme will not be taking part in the reunion and that no U.S. dates have been set in stone. In regards to Homme, it has to be expected that he would be too busy to join in on the fun (maybe you’ve heard of his other bands Queens Of The Stone Age and Them Crooked Vultures?). As for U.S. dates, I’m sure that it’s still a strong possibility to happen. Remember, it took Faith No More a little time to return to the States after a slew of European shows. Look at this as a good sign that more could be coming from Kyuss (or at least Kyuss related tributes).

For those who just might be in Europe during the Spring, or just want to tease yourself, you can check out European dates announced so far for Kyuss Lives after the jump.
