The Faceless took 2012 by storm with their latest album, Autotheism. However, the tech death metal group are no strangers to lineup changes. That’s why it’s easy to speculate whether drummer Lyle Cooper is still in the band, considering he was absent from The Faceless’ shows in Mexico this past weekend.

Metal Sucks were the first to notice Cooper’s absence from The Faceless shows. It didn’t take long for many to recognize Alex Rudinger of The HAARP Machine as the man playing drums in place of Cooper. Fan filmed footage of The Faceless performing “Xenochrist” in Guadalajara last Saturday (January 19) can be seen above.

At this moment, The Faceless haven’t commented on Cooper’s current status in the band. It’s quite possible that Cooper simply missed these particular shows to attend to a personal matter and will be back in time for The Faceless’ tour with Cradle Of Filth. However, as we mentioned before, The Faceless has gone through its fair share of band members. In fact, the band has technically gone through five drummers since forming in 2004. It likely won’t take too much longer for The Faceless to confirm or deny Cooper’s departure.
