Will Cannibal Corpse And Between The Buried And Me Co-Headline This Year’s Summer Slaughter?

Rumors and Gossip

We’ve got a few months till the Summer Slaughter Tour actually kicks off, but last month the tour already promised that this would be the “Biggest line-up yet.. get ready for 2012.” And on the last day of 2011, Summer Slaughter dropped a major clue by posting “Hammer Smashed Mordecai” on Facebook.

As many fans and fellow websites have already pointed out, the hint seems to reference Cannibal Corpse’s “Hammer Smashed Face” and Between The Buried And Me’s “Mordeci.” So that leads one to ask the following: are those two bands co-headlining Summer Slaughter this year?! Well of course this should only be referred to as a rumor, but also wouldn’t be hard to believe. Cannibal Corpse will be releasing a new album in March, and Between The Buried And Me have started work on the second installment of their Parallax concept series (which could very likely be released this year). And without a doubt, the two bands definitely make a great headlining combo.

But that may not be all Summer Slaughter has up its sleeve. Now Heavy Blog is reporting that The Faceless, Job For A Cowboy, Veil of Maya, and Hate Eternal are also rumored to be appearing on this year’s bill. Like the Cannibal Corpse and BTBAM rumors, though, Heavy Blog confesses that this is merely speculation. And while The Faceless and Job For A Cowboy will be hitting the road this March on the Metal Alliance Tour, The Faceless are Summer Slaughter alumni and Job For A Cowboy would be a perfect fit for the tour.

While nothing has yet to be confirmed, it’s only a matter of time till an official announcement is made. Look out Mayhem Fest, you’re not the only metal Summer tour causing early buzz now.
