As if two albums and a spot on the main stage of Mayhem Fest (again) in 2013 wasn’t enough, Five Finger Death Punch front man Ivan Moody will be working on a side project once the cycle of the second album is complete. In an interview with MetalShrine, Moody gave similar reasons that Disturbed’s David Draiman gave for the formation of his new side project, Device.

Moody said, “I talked to the guys (in the band) and after doing five records like this, it´s time to take a little bit of space from each other and that way, when we come back to do the next album, it´ll be fresh to us again.” It must be a common theme to do five studio albums with a chart topping band, only to form a side project immediately after. Though no one has been confirmed for Moody’s project, he says he already has some guys that he is pleased to say he will be working alongside with.

Volume 1 of The Wrong Side of Heaven, the Righteous Side of Hell will be released on July 30, with the second volume to be out later on in the fall. We can expect more information to emerge on Moody’s side project as the year rolls on but for now, enjoy the new stuff and catch Five Finger Death Punch on the main stage of Rockstar’s Mayhem Fest. Tour dates are posted after the jump.
