It’s been a few days since Chimaira went from a six-piece band to a five-piece, then to a  one piece. With vocalist/band leader Mark Hunter the sole remaining member of the band, he’s decided to end the band. In a statement on the band’s website, it says the following:

After fifteen full blown as ripping years, it is with great honor to announce the end of Chimaira.

Thanks to everyone that supported the group in any way shape or form.
Everyone involved with the band from members to fans put their heart and soul into this project.

We acheived a lot. We bled a lot.
It fucking ruled.

Hunter’s Facebook states: “I don’t know where to begin to express my gratitude. Thanks for everything…” And just prior to that, he quoted another Thompson, Hunter S. Thompson, in a quote that’s taken partially from a story the gonzo journalist wrote and attributed often to the music industry.
