The Amity Affliction have lost their founding guitarist Troy Brady while still touring in the United States. The Australian metalcore band had this posting on their Facebook from Troy Brady.

“It’s with deep regret I need to let you all know I will no longer be writing music or performing as part of The Amity Affliction. Myself and Ahren started this band 11 years ago, and spent every second of every day thinking about making the next step. I never dreamed I would see the world through music and make the life long friends that i have made.

But it is time for me to step away.

Although I’m not ready to go into any of the personal details behind this, I want to thank everyone who has supported me during my time in the band especially my family and girlfriend. This decision has been the hardest thing I have ever done.”

The band continues on their tour with For The Fallen Dreams, Obey The Brave, Crossfaith, Exotype, and Your Last Descent. It seems that the line-up change won’t phase the band one bit, according to another posting on Facebook:

“Although Troy was with us since the band began, in no way will his departure slow us down; we are already writing for our next record, and our tour schedule over the next year is looking to be our busiest yet. The boat sails on, see you tonight New York!”

The Amity Affliction formed in 2003 by Troy Brady and vocalist Ahren Stringer. Since then the band has release four full-length albums, their latest, Let the Ocean Take Me, came out earlier this year on Road Runner Records, their second with the label.
