Last week, rumors started to spread that Howard Jones would be launching his first project since parting ways with Killswitch Engage with members of All Shall Perish and Devolved. Now, not only does a press release confirm said project’s existence, but gives more insight into how it came to be.

Today’s announcement confirms that Jones is working on a new group with All Shall Perish guitarist Francesco Artusato and Devolved drummer John Sankey (though Metal Injection found that part out pretty fast). While the band’s name has yet to be revealed, we do know that it started off with Artusato and Sankey, with Jones joining toward the last few months of 2012. “It turned from bare-bones musical ideas into something that surpassed any of our expectations” says Jones. “It went from something we thought was going to be a fun, heavy project into something very real.” The former KSE singer also went on to say “It’s a different style of music for me… It’s heavy as anything any of us are known for but I get to do some different things people won’t expect. I’ve been singing almost all my life. Being around good songwriters and musicians in my former bands really helped mold me into who I am now.”

It’s also been revealed that producer and former Machine Head guitarist Logan Mader joined the group in the studio earlier this year for a recording session. The trio is apparently in the works of solidifying a live lineup, and are tentatively planning to release said album at the end of the year. While it’s unclear which label the project it’ll be released under, it’s worth noting that they are being managed by Scott Koenig and Mike Gitter of King Artist Management.
