Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week. By now, you’ve hopefully recovered from St. Patrick’s Day, or, as I like to call it, Every One Is Suddenly A Dropkick Murphys Fan Day. You also might have done something stupid this past [...]

Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week. No, I’m not going to go into some kind of rant about illegal downloading as the title might suggest. It just happened to fit nicely with the top debut and album of the week, [...]

Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week. After a jam-packed list of new releases last week, we get a bit of a breather with a short list today. However, as I promised, this week’s list has some bands on it that could turn into serious heavy hitters with solid album sales. So if you want to see one of these bands go [...]

Yet despite already leaving a major footprint in metal music, both singers are [...]

Continuing with March is Metal month, we face a contrast from last week’s spartan list to an overwhelming amount of releases this week. Adding to the contrast this week is that we have many big names with new albums today. Last year didn’t have many weeks like this, where the new release list is glutted [...]

It’s well known that alt country singer/songwriter Ryan Adams is a (not so) secret metal head, having performed an acoustic cover of Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years,” putting out a hardcore album and apparently even getting his popstar girlfriend Mandy Moore hooked on Voivod. And he obviously knows that his love for metal is turning a few [...]

We are halfway through autumn, mere weeks away from the holiday season, and the Christmas music is already starting to play in some stores. Personally, I’m rather irritated by this – not because of the music itself, but because of the choice in Christmas songs. Why is nobody playing anything from the We Wish You [...]
