Lamb of God’s tour for Resolution came to a screeching halt earlier this year when frontman Randy Blythe was arrested in Prague on suspicion of manslaughter for an incident at a 2010 concert where a fan died. While he was released a month later, he’ll still have to return to face a trial. While the band [...]

Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week. Unless your band name starts with “M” and you’re from the UK, you probably weren’t seeing the top album sales for this week. It’s a nice start for As I Lay Dying’s sixth album, although it’s their first album since 2005 to not debut in the top ten. We don’t know much (just ask our commenters), but we do know that it’s pretty rare for a band to sell double what their last album did in this day and age of declining sales. The Georgia band did just about that with their fifth album, One Wing. That’s impressive, and might have something to do [...]

We believe in a thing called sales. And for this week, those sales involve The Darkness, having returned after a five-year break-up, with their new album Hot Cakes. Anyone who forgot about the band was reminded of its existence this past Super Bowl. And over 9,000 were reminded this past week, with Hot Cakes. Also [...]
