Former WWE champion Chris Jericho has created a career outside of the ring for himself over the years. In addition to hosting countless reality TV and game shows, Jericho is also known for fronting his own metal band Fozzy. He’s also gained enough “metal credibility” to appear on a crap load of metal tribute albums, as well as to host the Revolver Metal Gods Awards for a second time this year. Though metal fans may not be as open to what the former WWE superstar is planning to do next…

TMZ has revealed that Jericho will be participating in this year’s Dancing With The Stars. The wrestler turned singer joins celebrities like rapper Lil’ Romeo, ex-Hugh Hefner girlfriend Kendra Wilkinson, sitcom star Kirstie Alley, talk show personality Wendy Williams and Disney star Chelsea Kane in the ABC dancing competition’s 12th season.

We could make jokes about Jericho competing on Dancing With The Stars and how “un-metal” it really is. But then again, it’s not like Jericho is as well respected of a metal singer as say Rob Halford. Yeah, it’s a little lame, but he’s been wearing tights in front of TV cameras for most of his career anyway. It’ll just be less body slamming and more tangoing. Besides, it’s not like this is the most embarrassing thing a metal musician has done. That honor goes to Vince Neil.

The official announcement will be made tonight during ABC’s The Bachelor, but since you most likely won’t be watching that, you can take our word that if anything above changes we’ll keep you informed.
