Tune into Shark Week tonight on the Discovery Channel (9pm EST) and you’ll hear some music from Washington, DC metal band Darkest Hour – apparently you’ll even hear their band name mentioned, too. All this according to the band’s official Facebook account:

“Excited to announce that 3 of our songs are used throughout this amazing show (produced by the all mighty Red Rock Films ) that will premier on Discovery chanel s shark week, this tuesday July 7th at 9:00PM Eastern Standard Time. Set those DVR’s as Official Darkest Hour even gets a mention on camera, Big Sharks, Big Riff’s..what else do you need in TV!”

This isn’t the first time that co-founding Darkest Hour guitarist Mike Schleibaum was involved with Shark Week; Schleibaum’s own music was used in a show called “Zombie Sharks” last year. The band also released a self-titled album last year, too, their eighth. Their first album with Sumerian Records, it debuted at #94, selling 3,225 copies in its first week of release.
