By now, it’s been made clear that Dave Lombardo isn’t returning to Slayer anytime soon. Naturally, fans want to know what the legendary drummer has been up to lately, so Dave Lombardo took to Twitter to deliver the following news:

I’ve been working on the music to a cartoon pilot for Disney and never thought It could be this much fun….Stay Tooned!!!

Random? Maybe a little. Cool? Absolutely. It’s anyone’s guess as to what the project is, though given the context it will be a new animated series. Looking at a list of upcoming series on the Disney Channel, the only animated one is titled Star and the Forces of Evil, which is about a magic space princess that comes to Earth to fight villains and…well, you get the picture. It could end up being an as-of-yet unannounced series, but we’ll see. Still, it’s cool that despite Disney’s regular skirmishes with metal bands, musicians like Lombardo can still collaborate with them.
