Back when Jimmy Fallon was on at 12:30, he had GWAR come on Late Night for Halloween. Now that he’s been moved up an hour and is more mainstream, nothing particularly metal has been on the show. However, Stephen Colbert is picking up the mantle and has booked the first heavy musical guest in his relatively short tenure as the host of Late Show. Ghost will be performing on Friday, October 30th, but since it’ll be after midnight when they go on, it’ll technically be Halloween. This will mark the first time the band has performed on late night American TV, and will probably confuse not just old people, but probably plenty of regular Late Show viewers that have no idea what they’re. No word on whether or not Dave Grohl will be playing with them, and it will be interesting to see if Papa performs in full Pope regalia, or his recent suit and stripped-down makeup look that appears in the flyer they put up on their Facebook page. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
