Crazy Town Frontman Shifty Shellshock In A Coma

That's Unfortunate

According to TMZ, former Crazy Town frontman Shifty Shellshock (real name Seth Brooks Binzer) is currently in a coma. Shellshock has supposedly been in the ICU of an LA hospital since last Thursday (March 29) and has been completely unresponsive. While it’s still unknown what exactly put him in a coma, those close to him say it was likely drug related. Shellshock is 37 years old.

The Crazy Town singer may be best known nowadays as a cast member of the first two seasons of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab and its spinoff Sober House. Shellshock was supposed to appear in court for a pre-trial hearing for his arrest back in February. Coincidently, Shellshock’s former Crazy Town bandmate Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein passed away from an accidental drug overdose in 2009.

While we admit that Crazy Town may not be our favorite band in the world (a feeling many in the metal community may share), this news is very unfortunate to hear. Our best wishes go out to Shellshock, his family and friends.

Update: TMZ now reports that Shellshock has regained consciousness from his coma. Doctors expect him to make a full recovery.

The plane crash was in 2008. He survived, but got addicted to pain medicine. He OD’d at his apartment in New York the following year.
