Dance Gavin Dance Singer Arrested For Narcotics

That's Unfortunate

It’s fair to say that Dance Gavin Dance have had one hell of a rough year. Shortly after the post-hardcore band announced the cancelation of their tour, it was revealed that singer Jonny Craig was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail in California. Craig was reportedly charged on Wednesday (October 19) for possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. According to Solano County Police’s booking log, Craig is being held for $15,000, though it is unclear whether he has posted bail yet or not.

Craig’s arrest comes just a few months after the singer had been caught scamming many people out of thousands of dollars on laptop purchases. Though at first he denied the reports, Craig shortly after admitted guilt and released a public apology. In that same statement, he also revealed that he had just completed a stint in rehab for drug abuse. Sadly, though, it’s now obvious that Craig needs some more time in detox.

Apparently this also means that Dance Gavin Dance will be going on a hiatus. Guitarist/co-vocalist Will Swan reportedly posted the following message on Facebook following the tour’s cancelation:

“DGD is on hiatus until Jonny can get his life together. Tour is not the environment for that. That is all”

Both the band and their label Rise Records have yet to officially comment on Craig’s recent arrest or on the supposed hiatus. Although Swan makes it pretty clear that Craig is the reasoning behind the tour’s cancelation and the band’s uncertain future (in case you couldn’t tell already).
