Between the Bus Fire And Misha, That's Unfortunate

See that charred mess to the right of these words? That would be the remains of Between the Buried and Me and Periphery’s tour bus, which caught on fire in the UK earlier today. Here’s Misha Mansoor’s account of what happened, taken from his Facebook page.

Shortly after we left Southampton early this morning, our bus caught fire on the freeway. Thanks to Paul our awesome driver and Jake noticing something being wrong, as well as the incredibly fast response of the fire service in the UK none

of us were harmed and it looks like all our stuff is okay too. If all goes well this should not affect the tour overall. We have a lot to be thankful for even though it was a hell of a scary way to wake up haha!
Mansoor exaplined more in an e-mail to Metal Sucks, saying ”it happened thirty minutes after leaving Southampton (England) this morning, and most everyone was fast asleep. [It was] a hell of a terrifying way to wake up haha! We had to run up this wet embankment in whatever we were wearing (which wasn’t much) while we watched the bus burn and waited for the fire brigade to arrive.  Thankfully this happened on a day off, and since all of us are safe, this won’t affect the tour!”
It’s good that he can laugh about it, and even better that no one was hurt and the tour won’t even be affected. Given the awful Baroness bus accident that happened a few months ago (not to mention the much more minor pyro truck accident with KISS and Motley Crue), it’s been a pretty insane couple of months for touring.
