WSOUAnyone that lives in the New York area and appreciates metal listens to WSOU. Operating out of South Orange, New Jersey, Seton Hall’s college radio station plays metal nearly 24/7, and has launched and nurtured countless careers. And while we’ve already featured top 10 lists from both individual radio stations and from CMJ, as the only full time metal radio station, and one that reaches New York at that, you’d be hard pressed to find a more influential terrestrial radio station in the format than ‘SOU. So when the management staff at the station (which we should mention includes a handful of current and former Metal Insider interns) asked if we wanted their combined top ten list, we jumped at the chance. This isn’t WSOU’s most-played list, but it is the programming and management staff’s personal favorites, so there’s definitely some overlap. They’ll be playing their own top ten during their shifts, so listen in (or listen online) to hear these albums and more:

10) Clutch, Earth Rocker (Weathermaker)

9) The Black Dahlia Murder, Everblack (Metal Blade)

8) DevilDriver, Winter Kills (Napalm)

7) Black Sabbath, 13 (Universal)

6) Kvelertak, Meir (Roadrunner)

5) Trivium, Vengeance Falls (Roadrunner)

4) Protest the Hero, Volition (Razor & Tie)

3) Born of Osiris, Tomorrow We Die Alive (Sumerian)

2) The Dillinger Escape Plan, One of Us is the Killer (Sumerian)

1) Volbeat, Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies (Universal)
