Metal Insider’s Top 5 is a column where we count down the top five of…well basically anything.

There’s a lot at stake for a band that’s been out of the public eye for years or simply experienced their fair share of bad luck. In some cases, those said bands have already been written off by many as hopeless cases. Thus, there’s an unexplainable excitement when such a band beats the odds and releases a high quality album that brings them back from obscurity. So with that in mind, we decided to list the top five comeback albums (and a few honorable mentions) in metal and hard rock.
