Metal Insider’s Top 5 is a column where we count down the top five of…well basically anything.

By now you’ve probably heard about Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s meltdown onstage at the “iHeartRadio Festival” in Las Vegas, NV this past weekend, which then lead him into rehab. Hell, you’ve probably seen video of it by now (and if not, take a look above). However, as many metal fans can attest, Armstrong isn’t the first frontman to freak out onstage nor the first to be filmed doing so (although we have to question how ‘punk rock’ it is to apologize to a corporation and then check yourself into rehab, but that’s a different story for a different time).

At any rate, we decided this week to list the top 5 metal and hard rock freakouts to occur onstage. Click on the page numbers below to see which ones from the stage made it on our list (note: we didn’t include Dave Mustaine or GG Allin because it would be just too easy).
