2. Maynard James Keenan takes care of fan onstage

YouTube Preview Image

Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan is pretty skilled in the art of Gracie jiu-jitsu, which is all the more reason you might not want to mess with the guy. During “Pushit” a few years back, a fan jumped onstage, looking for a high five or a hug. Instead, without missing a beat, Keenan embraced the guy, then immediately flipped him on his back and put him in a chokehold. He somehow managed to still sing and perform from atop the fan. Judging from his headbanging underneath Maynard, the fan seems to not mind. Yet in this age of post-Blythe concert intrusions, there’s at least five reasons why this would never happen in 2012. That is, it if’s for real and not just Maynard goofing on stage-crashers with someone in on the joke.
