2) Yakuza “Egocide”

Yakuza is one of the most interesting and heavy avant-garde bands out there. Sure, because of Bruce Lamont’s saxophone influence, there’s a heavy jazz influence in their metal, but there’s also shoegaze, post rock, and prog and any number of other influences as well. We’ve included “Egocide,” from their 2010 album Transmutations, because it’s a good summation of their sound – going from an Isis-like groove to death metal in seconds, yet still keeping the sax at the forefront. And despite how that sounds on paper, it makes perfect sense on record.

  • C Mon now

dude really?? u name a bunch of sax-men that play little to barely any parts except the Shinning. You should of done some real research and look for real band that incorporate the sax into almost their songs instead of just one or two songs in which i would NOT consider it be all jazzy/ black or be considered an album with a sax-man etc. but no….. Next time look up the genre “Black-jazz” and bands that use the Sax; rather than say, “O yea there a sax on this album watch out! (only on one/ two songs not the album)”

P.S. You should know metal arch. does help a lot….. especially if your giving us news, and blogging about metal
