Honorable Mention: Ozzy Osbourne, Down to Earth/ Black Rain

Quick, name five Ozzy Osbourne songs from his last three albums. Can’t do it? You’re not alone. Ozzy Osbourne is a living legend, and he’s created some phenomenal music over the course of his career.  That said, it hasn’t been since 1995’s Ozzmosis that he’s created an album that truly stands on its own. Whether it was Zakk Wylde’s concentration on Black Label Society, Ozzy’s dabbling in being a reality show star from 2002-2005,  or any other number of factors, the two albums he released in the first decade of the 2000’s seemed to be front-loaded with one single, and that was about it. With that said, Scream showed some signs of life, possibly due to new guitarist Gus G.

    Ozzy’s my favorite musician and even I’ll agree that Down To Earth and most of Black Rain weren’t up too par with the rest of his catalog. However,   Scream is probably one of my favorite albums by him; right behind No More Tears, Blizzard, and Diary. Anyway, I’m just glad you didn’t put Sabbath’s “Never Say Die” album on here, it may not be close to their best but it is a original-lineup Black Sabbath album, nothing beats that.

    Of course it says you could do a “Top 5 Disappointing Albums” on Metallica. Everyone is dissing on them and it’s absolute crap. Last time I checked they were in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But who cares what I say. I’m only a 13 year old girl. Nothing else matters.. :/

  • Did you love hearing Anvil’s new song “Mankind Machine”? Then stream the Canadian thrashers’ new album Hope In Hell in its entirety before it’s released on May 28 over at Loudwire.

  • Unsigned & Streamed vets Anciients, who’s Season of Mist debut Heart of Oak is out now, have landed the opening slot on the Lamb of God tour. They’ll be playing from May 16 – June 10. Check out the dates here.
