It’s not that big of a surprise that Aerosmith are gearing up for their last hurrah. Steven Tyler released a country album, Joe Perry has been playing with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp with Hollywood Vampires (and collapsing onstage while doing so). The fact that they’d be doing a farewell tour has been pretty much known, but today the band announced the cleverly-titled “Aero-Vederci Baby!” tour. They’ve announced a 17-date European tour, but no North American dates have been named yet. Also, you probably don’t have to worry about seeing them for the last time in 2017, as Brad Whitford suggested to Billboard that the tour could go on for years.

“We keep talking about what we may call a farewell tour, but based on the Kiss approach, that could go on for three to five years,” Whitford says. “We are seriously looking at that, just based on our age and everything.”

Based on that, it doesn’t seem like anything’s written in stone. Joe Perry has said that there are some songs they’ve got, but there aren’t any plans for a new album just yet. He’s hoping the tour lasts for a long time and plays everywhere they’ve ever played. So yeah, even though Aerosmith’s farewell tour is coming, they’ll most likely be around for quite a while.
