Along with the Mayhem Fest, people look forward to the unveiling of the Summer Slaughter tour as one of metal’s premiere touring festivals. Usually, it’s announced before Summer, hence the name, and by releasing the lineup on the Friday before Memorial Day, they just get in under the wire this year. Arch Enemy will be headlining this year. Also playing are Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya, The Acacia Strain, Obscura, After the Burial, Cattle Decapitation, and Beyond Creation.

Usually, the fest either leans towards death metal or djenty Sumerian-core. This year, it seems to split the difference. Here’s where you’ll be able to catch the tour, with more dates (and bands) coming soon. It’s interesting to note that the tour will join up with the All Stars tour in New York:
