On Friday, the Metal Insider-sponsored tour with Black Sheep Wall and Colombian Necktie kicked off. The two-like-minded sludge bands will be shredding the west coast and Southwest for the remainder of the week, and we’re having Black Sheep Wall drummer Jackson Thompson update us on how the tour’s going. Here’s the first installment, and you can catch the remaining dates (and you should!) below:

1 day down. None of us brought a computer so I’m writing this on my phone. The drive yesterday was long, so we learned a lot about each other. Turns out 2 of the members of our band have soiled their underwear more recently than anyone would have guessed (within the last six months). I won’t say who though. We also talked about people having romantic relations with robots. How long do you think it will be before it’s semi socially acceptable to have a robot significant other? I said 40 years. Jason said 8. We listened to this band I just found and fell in love with – Guerilla Toss. Listen to it.
I’m vegan so eating on the road kinda sucks. I finally found a Chipotle when we got to the venue and didn’t have the patience to look at the menu of a sandwich place called Ike’s – even given the highest recommendations to do so. Scott got a sandwich with mozzarella sticks, deep fried jalapeno poppers, and onion rings. The real bummer is that they have a vegan menu. Damn.
The show was fun. Flashy lights and good beer. Andrew’s guitar started farting at one part, but other than that it went well. Colombian Necktie was great. We went to a bar afterwards where this guy was bleeding all over the place in a nice suit. There were mcdonalds burgers wrapped in dough that everyone was raving about. Reno tonight.
