Earth bring more doom to the US this summer

Posted by on June 16, 2015

Seattle, WA doom legends Earth have been all over Europe and the US this year already, and they’ve just announced some more tour dates here in the states, starting next month. The band continues to tour in support of their eighth studio album, Primitive and Deadly, which came out on Southern Lord last year.

In an interview with Metal Insider, drummer Adrienne Davis explained how this latest album came to include so many collaborations,

“We were just trying to think of things that were more interesting to us, and something that we thought could serve the song, and that wouldn’t be like, “Oh, here’s a vocalist and a backing band.” We wanted it to feel very integrated and almost like it was its own instrument, as opposed to being just a vocalist. Some albums we bring in a cello, bring in a trombone, pedal steel, banjo, whatever it is. This album, kind of in a weird way, the vocalist was that extra instrument brought in.”

Dylan Carlson just played the Supersonic Festival in the UK on June 13th, where he performed 2014’s Boa / Cold with The Bug. Select tickets are available for purchase now for the upcoming US tour, including Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and Nashville.
