Metal fans have a love/hate relationship with Five Finger Death Punch. Some find them to be a great balance of hooks and heaviness, while some find them too radio-friendly. Whatever your feelings are for them, there’s no denying that FFDP are one of the bestselling rock groups (let alone metal) today, and the charts are proof of that. And thanks to that, FFDP have potential to help expose new fans into even more aggressive bands.

That’s why we find it interesting that the band would be hitting the road with Soulfly this Spring. FFDP have toured with many heavy acts before, most recently Hatebreed and All That Remains on the Share The Welt tour, but you wouldn’t necessarily expect to see the Max Cavalera-fronted band on the same stage as Five Finger Death Punch. That’s mainly because Soulfly isn’t by any means as radio friendly as FFDP to say the least. Yet that’s why it’s cool to see such a touring package. If Five Finger Death Punch can introduce their fan base to a more aggressive band like Soulfly (which then could potentially lead to fans discovering Cavalera’s old band Sepultura), then that’s pretty damn awesome.

It’s also helps that Soulfly’s new album Enslaved comes out on March 13 via Roadrunner Records, right before their tour with FFDP kicks off. You can check out a rundown of dates announced so far for Five Finger Death Punch’s upcoming tour with Soulfly after the jump.
