Iceland Monitor has reported that Guns N’ Roses scheduled show at the Laugardalsvöllur football stadium in Reykjavík on July 24th will be the largest concert ever to be held in Iceland. While NYC has a population of over 8 million people and includes nearby stadiums such as New Jersey’s MetLife with a capacity of 82,500 seats, the entire Capital Region of Reykjavík has a population of over 216,940, which we can assume Laugardalsvöllur has a great chance of selling out the 15,000 seat arena.

The organizers behind the Secret Solstice festival are behind this event and it will take about one week to prepare including a number of renovations to protect the grass as a special floor will be constructed for the concertgoers. Thirty-five containers are required to ship equipment to Iceland and 150 staff members will accompany the legends. Tickets for this not-in-your-lifetime event will go on sale on May 1st.
