Rumors and Gossip, Touring

While we wait for Mayhem Fest to announce this year’s lineup, there’s another metal touring festival getting ready for another summer. And while an official announcement has yet to be made, we can now take a few strong guesses at who will be playing this year’s Summer Slaughter Tour.

“So Cattle Decapitation hasn’t been on Summer Slaughter since the very first year back in 2006. You fuckers ready for us to bring ‘em back in 2013?!,” teased a post on the tour’s official Facebook page. Summer Slaughter also posted similar “hints” on Facebook over the past few weeks about Aeon and The Ocean. In other words, it looks like a very safe bet that Cattle Decapitation, Aeon and The Ocean will be appearing the Summer Slaughter Tour this year.

Granted, Summer Slaughter Tour’s Facebook page has been littered with band names for the past few months (including The Dillinger Escape Plan, Gojira, Children Of Bodom and more). However, the posts pertaining to Cattle Decapitation and Aeon imply more, while the post made last year about bands like The Dillinger Escape Plan seem more like optimistic thinking (although they are now signed to Sumerian Records, and label head Ash Avildsen also founded the tour). Either way, it shouldn’t be too much longer till we find out who else will be playing to “most extreme tour of the year.”
