Believe it or not, Vegas offers us headbangers a hell of a lot of choice when it comes to getting our mosh on. If you know where to look in Sin City you’re as likely to find the Black Dahlia Murder as you are a game of blackjack. There are loads of dedicated venues, from the grandiose Events Centre and Bowl, right down to local watering holes featuring plenty of lesser known rockers. This summer’s going to be one of the heaviest on record with Combichrist, Mastodon, and Melvins all making tour stops in Sin City in the next few months. If you’re of a technical disposition, perhaps the math-based noodling of Mestis is more your vibe. They’ll be joined in May by the eight string shenanigans of Javier Reyes (of Animals as Leaders fame).
Of course, there are also the festivals. This season is already looking ridiculously unwieldy in that regard too. The likes of Five Finger Death Punch and Judas Priest are opening proceedings at Las Rageous in April and the flat-out slobber knocker that is Psycho Las Vegas is happening again in August. Amongst their outrageously evil line-up are the pure noise-mongers of Sunn 0))) and the outright animosity of Homewrecker. Then there’s Las Vegas Death Fest. If only the filthiest will suffice, Dying Fetus, Vomit Remnants, Vituperate, and Putrid Womb should scratch that itch.
