How could the Deftones’ upcoming U.S. tour get any better? How about the addition of Periphery? Well then you’re in luck, as the djent band will be opening for Deftones across the country this March.

The news quickly became the worst kept secret of the day, as Periphery’s label Sumerian Records dropped the following major hints via Facebook yesterday (January 14):

“huge Periphery tour announcement coming in the next 14 hours.. we don’t want to tempest you too much and butcher the news just yet though……. ;)

It only took a few hours for Periphery to confirm the news via their own Facebook post. And needless to say, this is a pretty killer combo for a tour. While both have their own unique sound, Periphery’s live presence will definitely compliment the Deftones. Plus, this tour certainly gives Periphery a chance to play to a slightly different crowd. And who knows, maybe they’ll test out the new music from Juggernaut they’ve been teasing as of late.

Check out dates for Deftones’ March tour, now also featuring Periphery, after the jump.
