In a move that shows that they’re still paying attention to current music, recently reunited Swedish hardcore band Refused have tapped New York buzz duo Sleigh Bells as their opener for a handful of dates. For those not aware, Sleigh Bells mastermind Derek Miller learned his chops as the guitarist of Poison the Well. The band formed in 1997, right around the time Refused broke up. There’s actually one degree of separation between PTW and Refused. The last album featuring Miller, 2004′s You Come Before You, was recorded with Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lövström, who also produced Refused’s The Shape of Punk to Come and Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent.

Tour dates are below.

08/28 Seattle, WA – Paramount Theater
08/29 Portland, OR – Roseland Theater
08/31 San Francisco, CA – Bill Graham Civic Auditorium

In addition, Refused have added a show in Denver CO on 8/22, but no word on who’s opening.
