First, the sad news. High On Fire will be missing the last leg of the Metal Alliance Tour. Now here’s the good news: Shadows Fall have been tapped to replace High On Fire on said dates.

“We are excited to be playing a few of these dates with Anthrax and the rest of the Metal Alliance Tour package,” Shadows Fall declared via Facebook. Shadows Fall will join Anthrax, Exodus, Municipal Waste and Holy Grail when the tour stops in Charlotte, NC on April 13.

Granted, other than learning that High On Fire will be absent on these dates, this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Not only has Shadows Fall been confirmed to play the New England Metal & Hardcore Fest the same day as the tour package does, but guitarist Jon Donais has been playing with Anthrax in place of Rob Caggiano. Now all that remains to be seen is whether Charlie Benante will be present on tour.
