Skeletonwitch ready new singer, new tunes for 2016

Skeletonwitch announced they’ll be part of Decibel Magazine’s 2016 tour, supporting headliner Abbath, along with High on Fire, and Tribulation. The band also dropped hints of new music (their first since 2013’s Serpents Unleashed) and a new vocalist.

Said guitarist Scott Hedrick:

“Cheers everyone! We are proud to announce that we will be a part of the mighty Decibel Tour. They had us at Abbath, then tripled the ante with High on Fire and Tribulation! All three artists are in my personal top tier of heavy music. Definitely going to have some embarrassing ‘fan moments’ on this one. Just ask Matt Pike – as an overly excited teenager, I punished him with a game of 20 Questions when I saw them on their first U.S. tour. He still regrets giving me his phone number! New tunes, new singer, new tour, new chapter for SKELETONWITCH. Looking forward to seeing you all out on the road.”

Skeletonwitch parted ways with vocalist Chance Garnette earlier this year. He missed part of a tour with Amon Amarth and Sabaton about a year ago, and was then replaced by Andy Horn for their European tour back in April. This Decibel Magazine 2016 tour will be their first with their new singer, and Prosthetic Records says they’ll reveal who that is, “in the coming months.”

There was word of a new album coming out this year, but that was before they officially split with Chance Garnette. Looks like 2016 is shaping up to be a big year for Skeletonwitch!
