The lineup to this year’s Summer Slaughter Tour has been revealed. Headlining the fifth annual tour will be The Black Dahlia Murder and Whitechapel. Also appearing on this year’s bill will be Darkest Hour, Six Feet Under, Dying Fetus, As Blood Runs Black, Oceano, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and (performing a special “halftime performance) Powerglove.

While those are the big bands set in stone to appear on the tour, YOU get to choose who’ll be opening for them. Through the tour’s Facebook page, fans get to vote out of ten bands from ten different labels. The band that gains the most amount of votes will get to open for all of the bands above on the Summer tour.

Summer Slaughter founder Ash Avildsen gave the following explanation behind letting fans vote on the opening act for the first time in the tour’s five years:

“We had a lot of great ideas for bands for the middle of the bill like Obscura, Spawn Of Possession, 1349 and more. Unfortunately, none of them were available for the tour. So to keep it real for the fans, who without this tour doesn’t exist, we decided to bump everyone up a slot and allow you guys to choose who opens the tour! Not only do you now get to play a part in determining the lineup, but you’ll have more time to get inside the venues and not miss the almighty Fleshgod Apocalypse from Italy!”

Bands to choose from as openers include Dawn Of Ashes, Neuraxis, Within The Ruins, Augury, and 7 Horns 7 Eyes among many more. Fans have until April 11 to cast their vote at the Summer Slaughter’s Facebook page. An exact rundown of dates and venues will be announced on April 20.
