buscrash1We often report on the hazards of touring, be it vans getting broken into or something much worse. In a notoriously dangerous stretch of highway on I-70 in Aurora, CO, 12 were injured when a bus carrying crew members of indie rock band Twin Shadow struck a semitrailer, then hit another bus carrying crew members of a country band, Thompson Square. The driver of the first bus was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The crash, which happened at around 8am, was apparently caused by foggy conditions.

Granted, neither of the bands involved were metal, but with so many metal bands touring, this could have been almost anyone. Apart from the first bus’ driver, eleven others were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries. The Twin Shadow show that was scheduled for the Bluebird in Denver, CO tonight has been canceled.
