Uproar Tour To Make An Announcement This Monday

Touring

As if we didn’t need more news to make us concerned about Ozzfest. It has been announced via Twitter that the Rockstar Energy Uproar 2010 tour will be making an announcement on Monday, May 3.

While there have been no confirmations about the inaugural tour, rumors about Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Hellyeah, Stone Sour, Lacuna Coil and Halestorm’s participation have been swirling the internet months prior. There have also been dates leaked, including one on August 24 at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

This announcement is another exclamation point on how crowded the summer concert festival scene is becoming. Granted, the Uproar Tour is supposedly a late summer/early fall festival, but it’s probably a safe bet that these artists won’t be available now to part take in Ozzfest. Sure, these bands are still “unconfirmed.” But at least there’s been speculation about Uproar’s lineup building up to the announcement, while the buzz on Ozzfest’s possible lineup has been close to non-existent. And while the economy is supposedly showing signs of recovery, that won’t necessarily translate to the concert industry, which has had down attendance in recent years.

UPDATE: The lineup and dates to the inaugural Summer/Fall tour have been revealed. Disturbed will be on the main stage along with Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour and Halestorm. Hellyeah will be headlining the second stage along with Airbourne, Hail The Villain, New Medicine and the winner of the Jagermeister Battle Of The Bands in each city. So pretty much, its exactly what has been predicted (minus Lacuna Coil) and it’s basically the Fall version of Mayhem Fest (also sponsored by Rockstar Energy Drink). Check out the dates after the hit.
